Day 258: The Sound of Space Music
I don't know about you, but sometimes it blows my mind to think about things outside our world. Even imagining what life must be like in other countries is difficult, but thinking outside of our solar system, well, my thoughts never go there. That was until today!
I found out that over the past three decades astronomers (people who study space) have been listening the the sounds of stars. Even our sun makes noises similar to a bass amp. They kind of vibrate, making sound waves that we have been able to pick up with all our amazing technology. Isn't that incredible! Even the stars in the sky create music.
I mean, this takes creativity to a whole new level for me! What do creative thinkers like us do with this information? We've all seen swirly pictures like the one above and thought how beautiful space can be, right? But to think that things outside our own existence make music too...well, like I say, it blows my mind.
Creativity really is everywhere!

Day 79: Face Food
As you all know, I'm always looking for new and exciting creative ideas to fill your heads with. Today I'd like to inspire you with this:

Yep you got it, lunchboxes filled with shaped food! This art form is called caraben. Basically, it's sculpting food into stuff (other than food.) It's a Japanese creation and I think it's really exciting. Check out this blog for more inventive creations. It's an accompaniment to the book 'Facefood: The Visual Creativity of Japanese Bento Boxes'.
Are you into food? Are you into cooking, or maybe just eating? I definitely think this is worth a go whatever you're into. It certainly looks like a lot of fun so get creating!
PS, best not to try it at the dinner table. I don't think your mum or dad would appreciate their roast being turned into a sculpted butterfly!

Day 15: From object to invention!
If I gave you a piece of wire and said, 'do something with it,' what would you do?
Would you make it into a frame for something useful like a hat (to cover it in fabric) or a bowl (papier mashe)? Would you make it into a sculpture, minimalist or intricate? Maybe a maze for your pet hamster, or a new invention!
There really are so many possibilities with just a piece of wire, so the next time you find yourself with some, see what you could do...
No wire around? Well see what else is lying around your house. The garage is a good place to start or your loft. If you're in a creative frame of mind then go hunting and see what you can create out of everyday objects. Everything can fulfil a creative purpose!
